Just as Wimbledon is an almost a sacred place for the world of tennis, so is the Augusta golf course in the US state of Georgia, where the most important of the four Major golf tournaments of the year is played: the Masters.
The Masters is the only Major tournament that is always played at the same venue. It starts as the first major of the year - always on the first weekend in April. Playing in the Masters is a huge honor, even for the professional players who qualify based on their world rankings and performance during previous year. It is the smallest of all the Major tournaments, with only 90-100 players.
