How to choose the right shoes
The right size
So that you can walk and play sports well in sports shoes, and if you want to prevent bruises or other injuries, choose shoes of the right size. The toes must not touch the tip of the shoe directly, leave about 1 cm margin. Sports shoes should be about one size larger than shoes for regular wear.
Weight is important
Choosing the right model of sports shoes depends on your weight. If your weight is over 80 kg, cushioned shoes with a stronger midsole and cushioning in the heel and toe area are suitable for you.
Foot type
When choosing the proper sports shoes, especially golf shoes, in which you will spend long hours actively walking, take into account not only the right and well-fitting type of shoes, but also a suitable sports orthopedic insole according to the type of your foot:
Neutral instep – the foot is guided in an ideal position from stepping through the standing phase to the rebound, i.e. the knee is guided at a straight 90" angle and the athlete does not need special support technologies for footwear. However, with regular and long-lasting movement, the use of a sports insole for this type of foot will prevent heel and toe overload and thus the possible risk of arch collapse and joint pain in the future.
Low arch of the foot – the foot is guided when moving at an angle of less than 90 degrees. Sprained ankle - pronation, causes a change in the shape of the foot and pain in the heel and arch. In this case, it is recommended to use a sports insole that has built-in support technologies on the inside, i.e. below the level of the arch, and the heel cup, which corrects pronation and thereby improves the quality of movement and at the same time eliminates possible injuries.
High arch of the foot – the foot hits a minimal surface during movement, while extreme pressure is exerted on the heel and toe, without shock absorption, which causes pain in the lumbar region. In this case, it is recommended to use a sports insole that has high arch support and cushioning gel cushions under the heel and toe.
When to buy/try
During sports activity, the gait expands and flattens. Therefore, it is recommended to try and choose sports shoes later in the afternoon or evening, when your feet are more stretched.
Replace at the right time
Do not wear sports shoes continuously for all purposes (we recommend changing golf shoes immediately after the game). Do not wear regularly used sports shoes until they "wear in", you could cause problems with your feet or injuries. Shoes with a thicker sole need to be replaced after 1,500-2,000 km, thin and light models can handle a maximum of 500 km. It is also necessary to replace sports orthopedic insoles with new ones after 1 to 1.5 years.
The weather matters
Golf shoes need to be thoroughly dried and treated with appropriate preparations after use, especially in humid to wet environments, so we recommend that you have at least two pairs of shoes and alternate them during regular play. In warm weather, we recommend not using waterproof leather shoes, but light, breathable models made of thin surface materials.
General principles when choosing suitable footwear
When choosing shoes, make sure that the selected model meets your needs not only in terms of its purpose, but also in its cut and size, and that it fits your foot perfectly when you try it on in the store in terms of length and width.
Always try on both pieces of the pair and always try on the shoes while standing.
Premature wear or even damage to individual parts of the shoe due to its inappropriately chosen size, cut, proportion, etc. cannot be accepted as a reason for a possible later complaint.
• When choosing shoes, first carefully consider for what purpose or for what occasion you will primarily use the shoes:Sports shoes - determination exactly according to the type of sport
Light summer sports textile or leather shoes without waterproof treatment - for use in dry environments, breathable
Waterproof footwear - for use in wet environments in adverse weather / not freezing
Leisure footwear – fashionable footwear for use on hard surfaces and indoors
• The existence of a whole range of types and types of upper, lining and bottom materials provides enough options for choosing footwear.
• When choosing shoes, the shoes should be tried on especially carefully. At the same time, it is also extremely important to lace it properly every time it is used. If the foot in the shoe is not fixed in a sufficient way, an unnatural sliding movement of the foot in the shoe occurs when walking, and thus the lining parts are damaged very quickly by abrasion.
• Shoes need to be changed often, especially in bad weather.
• When putting on shoes with a closed cut, use a shoehorn
